Retired, still teaching, plotting and scheming....

We are just past midway on half term here in the UK.  I am putting the finishing touched to a few Ukes which I will be taking to Carlisle with me at the weekend for "Big House in the Country" Uke weekend.

I am back to school on Monday.  Having given up full time teaching in September 2015 I keep getting bits here and there which helps finance my lunacy of guitar and UKE building. Unfortunatley that part of my life has become more of a job than a hobby.  But I am addressing that. "Work life balance" they say!!.  Bollocks to that.  I just want to have loads of fun.  SO I will pick my hours and build what I like when I like with the occasional download of sky box sets when I feel like it.

My latest obsession however is not a box set it is "Michael Portillos great American train journey" on BBC2.  I have just managed to acquire a copy of the book accompanying the series which has set my mind racing forward to 2 years hence when it will be the 10th anniversary of my epic Route 66 adventure.  As such I feel another journey coming upon me this time using Trains Planes and Automobiles.

As a mini taster as Mr P has just done Chicago.  Here are a couple of pics from 71/2 years ago.  Finding these pics have made me want to blog about everyday shit, guitars ukes and madness so this could develop somewhat..
